In this clip answers a question from the youtube crowd about adrenal stress. Please see the section on stress in Paul’s book “How To Eat Move & Be Healthy”

“HPA axis gets practice when you attempt to flip backwards after swallowing empty fire, then again when you wonder why your back hurts. Its ABsurdity that we flirt with disease because we never were told of the cold hard certainty that stress usurps our dreams and supresses the best of our essence from encircling the quadressence; and some would say purposefully” – Paul Chek Jr

I am addicted to diet coke, like 6-8 cans a day, but I’m pretty sure I use it to self medicate. I have raynaud’s phenomenon, and I often get dizzy or nauseous when I stand up. In general, my blood doesn’t get to where its trying to go fast enough. There are a couple things that help this drinking water to increase blood volume, having caffeine to restrict blood vessels, and increasing sodium intake to increase blood pressure. Water + caffeine + salt = diet coke. Also, I have ADHD, so caffeine can help balance me out. Also, after I eat food I get a horrible stomach ache if I don’t have a diet coke with it; as if I can’t digest the food on my own.
So I’ve researched the health effects of diet coke a lot and I’m not that impressed. Please don’t warn me about aspartame or how I will become obese or get osteoporosis. My calcium intake is through the roof, and my weight has been stable for years. But I do want to kick the coke habit. Why? It costs approximately a bajillion dollars a month. More importantly, coca-cola is an incredibly evil corporation with more money than any government who might try to stop them, and who is destroying lives in the countries where they bottle coke. My love of diet coke is not worth someone’s life. Further, now that walmart is selling 24 packs at $5 a pop, thats where my family can afford to get them, and the only thing worse then giving coke thousands of my own dollars is giving coke and walmart thousands of dollars.
Has anyone else experienced these benefits from diet coke but kicked the habit anyway? What alternatives to dc did you use? Any ideas what I could do to stop handing coke my money but not feel dizzy, nauseous, mentally slow, and unable to digest food?
Ever heard of coke zero? If you don’t want to get fat then try this it only has like 4 calories a can. And if you don’t want to help coke then… Pepsi maybe?

try drinking green tea add a lemon if u dont mind the taste. this is great for ur metabolism….try exercising first thing when you wake up…have a small breakfast like a fiber one yougurt of activia with fiber and whole grain with a little bit of peanut butter….for lunch at around 12 or one have a large fruit salad a maybe a yougurt. For dinner around 4:30 have whatever you want just not fast food…drink only water and green tea when possible- it boosts your metablolism and add benefiber powder to it- it will make u feel full for hours because thats what fiber does plus its also good for moving waste out your colon which means weight loss!st. im doing the same thing and its showing me great results.Exersicing first thing in the morning is always best

Okay, my whole family is "bigger" but I am almost 200 LBS and i am only 16 years old. I feel like it’s cutting into my social life, I dont like hanging out with my other side of the family cuz they are thinnner. I want to lose weight so badly but I dont have the self motivation. Can someone give me some good exercising and dieting tips?? please. I am overweight and I think i would feel better if i lost some of it. I would like to not lose so much boob. If possible?
I am also a vegetarian.. so that might help.
please though, I need a good diet and a workout schedule. I do online schooling so im sitting on my butt all day, my bike got stolen so that’s no help to me.
THANK YOU !
How tall are you? If you are really tall then you might only be a bit overweight, but I guess it’s up to your doc to decide. Here are a few diet tips that have helped me:
1. Whenever you feel hungry drink 2 full glasses of water so you will not overeat.
2. The first thing to eat when you do eat needs to be fruits or vegetables; you can eat meat and carbss afterwards, but they should be a bonus, not the thing that makes you full.
3. Exercise. Run, power walk, skate, rock-climb, aqua-jog, swim laps, use exercise equipment, do yoga, vacuum your house, mow the lawn, play with little kids outside, jump on a trampoline, jump rope, play a rec sport, do water polo, anything you like. Do it as often as possible and when you feel tempted to eat too much, think about how it will cancel out the calories burned during your latest workout. Just one pb & j sandwhich or a cup of ice cream can cancel 30-40 minutes of jogging, and an hour or more of walking.
4. Find a few low calorie foods that you love and eat them when you feel like indulging yourself with junk food. For me, this is soy milk, canned pineapple, or dole fruit Popsicles (only 40 cal each). Portabella mushrooms can be seasoned to substitute a lot of fattier main entrees- be creative!
Good luck, I hope this helps

i’ve been suffering from ED-NOS for quite a while. Starving, binging, purging, over excercising, self harm, diet pills … and im getting so tired of it all. I have a close friend who’s been battling anorexia for as long as me, and she’s being forced into recovery. I convinced her everything would be okay, and that we could recover together. in order for that to happen i have to talk to someone about it. My mom knows im not right, she caught me on a pro-ana site last august and said that i was ‘developing’ an eating disorder ( i’ve been developing since i was nine.. ) and i cant stand it anymore. Im constantly thinking about killing myself. Im supposed to go over to my aunts in a few weeks and i want to tell her, because she’s so supportive and all and she’ll get me the help i DESPERATELY need. I want to email her now though, because i cant wait to do it in person and also emailing would probably be easier. I want to do it now before its too late and i change my mind. My weight keeps going up and down .. lowest weight was 98.. highest was 120. I started at 106. I CANT TAKE IT ANYMORE I REALLY REALLY CANT !!!!!! What do i email her, i dont want to hurt anyone, and i dont want people to fuss over me i just want to get better and be a normal happy healthy teen ( im 13 ) and i dont want to keep hurting myself .. i also want to get better with my friend because it will be easier on both of us, since we both understand eachothers problems and what each other is going threw. PLEASE HELP MEE </3 :’(
no one died or anything, my brothers autistic and he’s always had more attention than me .. and i’ve always been a bit chubby as a kid i guess
i emailed it a few days ago
thanks for the help
NOBODY is going to be mad at you its not your fault, is there something that happened? Did someone die? or has it always been a struggle for no reason? You should really talk to your mom, if you dont think she will understand then yes talk to your aunt tell her you think you have a problem and really want help, she wont get mad at you, why would she, its NOT your fault! You can look up some phone numbers on the internet so you can talk to someone about it (like a Kids Help phone not some randome person lol) its GREAT that you are noticing whats wrong and want it to stop. Be strong,
<3

For years I’ve been trying to lose weight.. I’m about 5’8 and 152 lbs or so.. Which IS classified as overweight, I don’t have a fake self-image. And I’ve tried the exercise and diet thing.. But is there anything ELSE I can do WITH it to make it go faster? Or ANYTHING to help lose weight. Open to anything besides surgery and anything expensive.
Not if you want to keep the weight off. Fad diets and pills only work short term. They are very unhealthy long term. Once you quit, you gain the weight back because you haven’t changed your habits and lifestyle that led to the gaining the weight in the first place.
An easy way to help eat better is the No S Diet. Don’t let the name fool you. It’s more of a sensible eating plan than traditional deprivation diet. No counting point, calories, carbs, etc. Just 3 simple rules.
1. No seconds.
2. No sweets (this includes sodas and other sweet drinks)
3. Not on S days (weekends and special holidays)
If you want to have pizza, fine. Two regular or one large slice will fit on a plate. Chicken with rice? Just one serving. Pie ala-mode? Better make it on the weekend. The best thing about this is that unlike most traditional diets, it can be followed for you entire life without putting yourself in danger of malnutrition because it doesn’t limit the type of foods you can eat except sweets.
You can still have your favorite foods, just in moderation. You aren’t feeling deprived or guilty because you can eat what you want on the weekend. Just be sure you don’t overdo it and wreck all the good progress you made during the week. You don’t need special foods or to make a big deal around your friends and family.
Some people have #2 as no snacks. I find I get headaches if I don’t eat more frequently. I’ll allow myself a healthy snack of a small piece of fruit or veggies. Just be sure no dressing or peanut butter with it. Studies have shown that it is better to have 3 medium size meals and 2 small snacks rather than just 3 large meals. This helps keep blood sugar more steady. Plus you won’t feel so hungry at meal times.
