any weight loss success stories/tips?
Monday, May 31st, 2010I am currently overweight and I would like to lose aleast 20 pounds, please give me some tips or some of your success stories, it would really help, thanks!

First i think you should put in your current, then aim, weight. It’s really good – http://nutrition.about.com/od/changeyourdiet/a/calguide.htm
it will say how much you need to lose to reach a certain amount, and how many calories to eat a day to reach this.
I lost 8lbs in a month, and then slowly 10lbs, although i wouldnt recommend it if im honest
i ate about 0-1200 calories a day (some days nothing, other days more), and cause im 16 and still growing, i wouldve lost more, but i grew and such.
Like i said, i wouldnt recommend it, i also did about a half hour bike ride (at least) daily, trampolining, steps, and such
some things i did i’d recommend, like,
- Drink lots of cold water and green tea (cause they 1) fill you 2) have barely any calories 3) speed up your metabolism
(- Dont eat 4 hours before you sleep – your metabolic rate slows down as you sleep) – not sure if thats a good idea or not? :/
- Read the calorie labels
- Get at least 7 hours of sleep a night to raise your metabolism
If i’m honest, if i could go back i wouldve also exercised better, and at the start of the day – this can kick start your metabolic rate for the day
Cardio Exercise is good as its quick and effective – stuff like bike, running, steps
Run
- you burn many calories, (especially if you add hills and sprints)
Bike
- 250-500 calories in 30 minutes, depending on how fast you go and how high your resistance is.
- you use all the power in your legs for this too
Swimming
- you use your whole body
- 30 minutes doing breast-stroke and can burn almost 400 calories.
Step Aerobics
- Step is one tough workout that targets your legs, butt and hips while burning almost 400 calories in 30 minutes
Walking
- 180 calories in 30 minutes. Adding hills, sprints or even a few minutes of jogging can increase the amount of calories you burn.
- walk briskly
- keep you head up, back straight and swing your arms.
Of course, the amount you currently weigh effects all this – if you weigh less it’ll make it less per hour, and more it’ll be more per hour, so maybe if you checked up on this?

And, remember, it’s veryy unhealthy to burn more than 2lbs a week (unless your severly overweight)
